Italy Day 3 :)

Buon Giorno! (Good morning) I am sitting here in my cute little living room and it is around 10:30 in the morning. I AM THE FIRST ONE AWAKE! Weird right?!

Sorry I forgot to post for a few days, but I am sure you can imagine why! So I went back and read my last blog and there is one thing I would like to mention:

I called “Big Ben” “Big Bend.” LOL obviously I had no idea what I was talking about and felt really stupid after I figured out what it was really called. The british accent threw me off! ..but anyways, lets talk about Italy! 🙂

When we arrived in Italy on Friday, we stayed in a beautiful hotel called Hotel Novana. It was everything you could picture a hotel in Italy to look like: Open balconies, a wonderful view, and authentic Italian food. We did very little exploring, but I have already witnessed the most beautiful scenery I did not even know could exist. We walked around the city in Pantheon where our school was located, which is right in the middle of the square and it is adorable! The weather is perfect too! Yesterday, we transferred to our hotel which is across the river in Travestere (but still in Rome) which is also only a three minute walk from my cousin’s apartment in Italy….SUCH A SMALL WORLD. It was so nice to finally get settled in and unpack my stuff from my suite case.

About my apartment: I have four rommates named Courtney, Kat, Katie, and Nikki who are all awesome! Courtney and I are sharing a room and it is huge! I pictured a really small apartment, although we have a large living room, HUGE bedroom, and a kitchen. I will post pics to facebook! When we got here, the weirdest part was definitely the trash…I know that sounds strange, but we are required to separate are trash into four different trash cans: glass, plastic, metal, and non-recycle. I know it does not sound that complicated, but when you go to throw out a any piece of trash you have to decide which one it goes in, and if you can’t figure it out, you refer to a long list provided in the apartment. All of us are a little thrown off by it!

Last night my roommates and I walked around the corner to a little restaurant called “Mama Eat!” where I finally got to order my favorite italian dish: Spaghetti alle Vongole! ( spaghetti with clams). This was my second attempt at trying to order in Italian. Even though our waitress spoke English, I have been trying to speak in Italian so I can improve my speaking. It is so fun!

Today my roommates and I are going to head to Beach Ostica, which is only about thirty minutes away from here. Tonight we have an art tour around Rome with our group that I am really looking forward to! I am not usually an art buff, but man does Italy change my perspective on that! Everything is so gorgeous here and there is not a thing that I could complain about. I have never felt so much excitement and happiness, especially when I remember that I get to live here for a month! I am finally living my dream. I never want it to end, but I also have some great trips to look forward to before I head home! I will tell you about that later because I want to go explore on my own a little before everyone wakes up.
Love you all!

London: Day 1

London Day 1
Wow! London is amazing! I am feeling a bit of jetlag right now, but I’m fighting through it so I can enjoy the only three days I have here!
The flight was long, but not as bad as I thought it would be!
The drive from the airport was terrifying because these people drive like mad men. But I have to mention that the taxis are the cutest thing I have ever seen.
Today I met my roommate Courtney who is awesome! We had so much fun exploring today. We are sleeping in University dorms in London until we go to Rome on Friday! It is super close to everything and we each have our own dorm rooms. S’cute!

My favorite part about London is definitely the structures of the buildings and how everything is walking distance from where we are staying. Eating at restaurants made me feel like a foreigner because they do not get tipped for service so you basically do it all yourself. Including getting your own silverware and dressing your own salad. (Stupid Americans). I have yet to try England beer but that is in the books for tomorrow!

Tomorrow we will be waking up around 7 to begin our tour to see the Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Towers of London, and many more touristy places. I’m stoked! Then Courtney and I plan on walking around and doing some shopping in our free time and checking out the Big Bend.
Well, as I said earlier, I am super tired. I am going to get a good nights rest since I have a full day ahead of me tomorrow.
I will try to post tomorrow and let you know about my day!

Love and miss you all!
Peace && blessins

7 Reasons Why You Should End Up With A Man Like Your Father

no daddy better out there then Steves Bran

1. Your father was the first man to ever enter your life and the first man who you ever learned to treat with utter reverence. Despite what most may think, it’s hard to learn how to respect someone. Your father was a living example of traits you should look out for, ones you learned to be proud. And most importantly, you probably still love him for all of his flaws. Simply put, you’re more likely to fall for someone and have respect for an individual who has imperfections like your father because you already know how to tolerate them.

2. A father’s love for his daughter teaches her to have self-confidence and to love herself. That is why you need to find someone who is able to love you unconditionally and wholeheartedly. Because a guy’s love for you will teach you to love yourself, and we can always benefit…

I Found Jennifer Lawrence’s Cell Phone In A Cab

How cool. I wanna find JLAWS phone in a cab!

Thought Catalog

“This will be my exercise for the day,” I thought as I left the bar, planning to walk home.

Like most winter nights in New York City, I was in a cab a minute later. I hop in and land on something blocky. It feels like a seat belt. I don’t wear seat belts in cabs, but didn’t want to sit on it for the entirety of the ride. I reach under me and feel familiar plastic: an iPhone case.

I yell up to the cab driver. “Hey, someone left a phone back here.” He mumbles something into his bluetooth headset, ignoring me.

I tap the home button and the screen lights up. It’s locked. Glowing behind the keypad is a picture of a dog. White with brown ears. A basset hound, I think.

It’s the new iPhone with the fingerprint reader, which I heard were faulty. I press down…

July 10, 2013

So I am on cloud nine right now because I just found out that my dad was able to get me and my best friend free tickets to JOHN MAYER on July 10th! John Mayer is probably my favorite artist of all time, not to mention he is beautiful. This not only means that I get to jam out with my best friend this summer to John Mayer, but it also means that my she will be coming to stay with me for a whole week this summer! My week is completely made!!!

My favorite song right now is Somethin Like Olivia…hoope you enjoy!

Rainy Days

Last night I fell asleep with my window up, and woke up to a thunderstorm.

Thunderstorms are my favorite to sleep through, so life really sucked this morning when I had to wake up at 8:30 for a test. I usually hate rainy, gloomy days because I cannot be outside. Thinking about it,  rainy days are good every once in a while because I can get a lot done. Like right now, if it were sunny I would probably be outside with my friends hanging out avoiding homework, but since it is raining, I have nothing else to do but homework. I am really getting to the point that I am ready for summer, but I am still not ready to leave  Springfield.

I have been sitting here listening to Pandora for the past hour, and this song is great to listen to on a rainy day if you’re bored.

Mixed Feelings

Since I have been enjoying this spring weather to the fullest, I have just came to the realization that I am really dreading summer. Well I am not dreading the weather, I am dreading leaving all of my friends!! I live in Kansas City and all of my friends that I have made seem to all live in St. Louis or somewhere far from me! I don’t want to go home, I love it here. Although I miss my family, Springfield is a fun place. I am super excited to get this summer over with because everyday I am just going to be working. I am super anxious to get back here to move into my apartment with all my best friends! This summer I hope that I get to take trips to St. Louis and my friends come to KC or else my summer is going to be super boring! Well I should probably stop avoiding writing my paper.

Seeeeee ya

Summer please?

It is that time of year…all i want to do is hang out outside when the whether is this nice. I don’t know about you but nothing makes me happier than a nice day. Now is the time i should really be worrying about school and studying extra hard and I have been struggling lately! I need to get back on my game. I am especially stressed now just being assigned an 8 page paper as well as a speech! I hate speeches. They make me nervous and uncomfortable. That is another reason I am ready for summer: to be done with speech class. I hate it more than anything.

Well I really need to get back to studying …hope y’all have a good week

Netflix Obsession

So I am guessing most of you can relate to me when I tell you about my Netflix obsession. My first favorite series was Weeds (which I finished in a week), then Prison Break, and now Scandal. I just started Scandal a week ago and I am already on the second season. This is not really a good thing because I want to fill all my free time up with Netflix rather than homework…

Anyway, I highly encourage you all to check out Scandal if you’re looking for a new Netflix series to watch. If you like thrillers…here is the trailer!

Karma

“Once you’ve lived a little you will find that whatever you send out into the world comes back to you in one way or another. It may be today, tomorrow, or years from now, but it happens; usually when you least expect it, usually in a form that’s pretty different from the original. Those coincidental moments that change your life seem random at the time but I don’t think they are. At least that’s how it’s worked out in my life. And I know I’m not the only one.”

Slash

Something really neat happened to me this week. I think that I may have had some good Karma coming to me.  A passed over a blog about Karma a minute ago and it inspired me to write about my experience.

On Monday morning I was at Starbucks and had to wait in line for about ten minutes. When I got to the window  I was told that the person in front of me decided to pay for my drink and sandwich.

Why would they do that?

The employee informed me that the guy was having a good day and decided to show a random act of kindness.

My response to him was “I promise to pay it forward.” Next time I go to Starbuck’s, I definitely plan on doing the same.

When I called my sister and the first thing she said to me was “That’s good Karma, don’t forget to pay it forward.”

This put me in a good mood for the rest of the day because it reminded me that I obviously did something good for someone in order for that to happen to me.

Then I remembered; a couple weeks ago I went to breakfast at George’s which is a cute little breakfast restaurant down the street from campus. When I went to pay, I saw my waitress running out the door trying to catch some people that dined and dashed.

Confused on how someone can actually be okay with doing that to someone, I decided to pay for it. The waitress had no idea that I did that, but no one deserves to be ripped off.

KI am one of those people that could never steal anything because if I did I would only think about what would happen to me for doing that. If you do good things, good things will be done to you.

Most people think of karma is terms of “what goes around comes around,” usually referring to someone that deserves some bad karma.  Karma can be both good and bad, but it’s honestly up to you.
